Another company with strong Canadian ties said it received a license this week to begin the cultivation, distribution and export of medical marijuana in Colombia.

CannaVida SAS – based in Colombia and run by a team of Canadian executives – said it will proceed with medical marijuana production in its 2-million-square-foot (185,000-square-meter) cultivation facility in Santander, Colombia.

The company also said it received a permit to commence construction of a 450,000-square-foot “cannabis campus,” which will include a 15,000-square-foot processing and extraction laboratory.
