For most people, New Buffalo is a beach town on the shores of Lake Michigan. For the cannabis industry, it\u2019s become something else entirely: one of the country\u2019s busiest retail corridors. With roughly 80% of customers at Mango Cannabis\u2019 New Buffalo dispensary traveling from out of state, the retailer is celebrating the region\u2019s growing cannabis tourism economy with its biggest giveaway yet\u2014a chance to win a leased 2025 Ford Escape SUV and $5,000 in cash.<\/p>\n
The Mango Gives Back Summer Giveaway takes place Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the company\u2019s recently opened New Buffalo dispensary<\/a>. Guests 21 and older can enjoy a complimentary Sizzlebox food truck, product giveaways and special deals throughout the day. The winner will be announced at 6 p.m. and does not need to be present to claim the grand prize.<\/p>\n Mango Cannabis CMO Jon Pattah says the event is ultimately about thanking customers while introducing more visitors to the New Buffalo location. Saturday\u2019s giveaway will be the largest that Mango has ever hosted since first opening in 2018. \u201cWe\u2019re very proud of it, we\u2019ve learned a lot putting it together, and there are many more big giveaways to come,\u201d Pattah says.<\/p>\n Thanks to its proximity to Northwest Indiana and the Chicago metropolitan area, New Buffalo has become one of the country\u2019s premier cannabis retail destinations. \u201cJust about every major dispensary operating in the state opens a store in New Buffalo,\u201d Pattah says.<\/p>\n \u201cNew Buffalo is often referred to as the \u2018Hamptons of Chicago,\u2019\u201d states Kevin Pattah, CEO and co-founder of Mango Cannabis in a recent press release. \u201cIts unique location attracts visitors from across the region, including many from states without adult-use cannabis access. We wanted to create an unforgettable giveaway that celebrates our customers and gives both locals and visitors another reason to stop by and experience what Mango has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n Founded in Oklahoma, Mango Cannabis<\/a> now operates 14 dispensaries across Oklahoma, New Mexico, New York and Michigan, with New Buffalo representing one of its newest markets.<\/p>\n The giveaway builds on Mango\u2019s history of large-scale customer events. Last year, Mango hosted Mango Del Sol in New Mexico, drawing more than 10,000 attendees for performances by Paul Wall, That Mexican OT and OhGeesy. This year\u2019s New Buffalo giveaway reflects a similar effort to introduce the company\u2019s newest market through a memorable customer experience.<\/p>\n As New Buffalo continues to emerge as one of the Midwest\u2019s busiest cannabis retail destinations, dispensaries are finding new ways to compete for out-of-state consumers.
