The bicameral panel only has until Thursday to reach a final deal.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/florida-marijuana-legalization-campaign-releases-new-statewide-ad-warning-of-dangers-of-unregulated-cannabis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Florida campaign seeking to pass a marijuana legalization initiative on the November ballot released a new TV ad<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> featuring a mom who says currently illegal cannabis is \u201cproduced by criminals and can be laced with dangerous drugs like fentanyl.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The legalization measure, in contrast, \u201cgives adults access to legal, safe marijuana.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/ohio-officials-post-recreational-marijuana-license-application-materials-to-prepare-market-launch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Ohio Division of Cannabis Control posted application materials for medical marijuana businesses<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> that want to begin serving the new recreational market.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/ahead-of-hearing-on-new-jersey-psilocybin-bill-majority-of-state-residents-back-legalization-for-therapeutic-use-in-new-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A poll found that New Jersey adults support legalizing medical use of psilocybin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, 55 percent to 20 percent. The result comes ahead of a Thursday vote in the Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee on a bill to create a licensed psilocybin services program while more broadly legalizing the psychedelic.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/major-alcohol-industry-group-pushes-congress-for-critical-action-to-regulate-consumable-hemp-products-rather-than-ban-them\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wine &amp; Spirits Wholesalers of America sent a letter urging congressional leaders to take \u201ccritical action to ensure that intoxicating hemp products sold across the country are safe for consumers\u201d<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2014including enacting \u201cclear federal rules and regulations that define intoxicating hemp compounds and to grant states the authority to regulate these products within their borders.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/most-consumers-use-marijuana-to-treat-health-issues-but-very-few-call-it-medical-ama-study-finds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A new study published by the American Medical Association found that while more than three-quarters of marijuana consumers \u201creported using cannabis to manage a health symptom<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, very few patients identified as medical cannabis users.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cMost patients reported that they used cannabis to manage symptoms including stress and pain.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/alabama-medical-marijuana-grower-nears-first-harvest-but-litigation-is-still-blocking-patient-access\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission official said that even though some growers are \u201cpreparing to harvest their first crops,\u201d<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> they are \u201cfaced with the uncertainty of when that product can be sold to patients\u201d due to ongoing litigation holding up dispensary licenses.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>\/ FEDERAL<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/public-inspection\/2024-12216\/agency-information-collection-activities-proposals-submissions-and-approvals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The U.S. Department of Agriculture<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is seeking White House Office of Management and Budget permission for a data collection effort on hemp production and disposition.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/james-comer-helped-a-donor-get-chinese-hemp-it-ultimately-tested-as-marijuana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rep. James Comer (R-KY)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, when he served as Kentucky\u2019s agriculture commissioner, reportedly helped a campaign donor obtain imported Chinese hemp seeds that later grew plants containing illegally high levels of THC.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepRitchie\/status\/1798345369073615205\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> tweeted, \u201cLast night, I mistakenly voted NO on an appropriations amendment that would allow veterans to access state medical marijuana programs. I want to set the record straight: I strongly support this amendment.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EleanorNorton\/status\/1798100683239072021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> said she\u2019s \u201cpleased\u201d that a key funding bill was filed by a House subcommittee without a longstanding noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">marijuana banking<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> bill got one new cosponsor for a total of 123.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The House bill to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/house-bill\/3584\/cosponsors?pageSort=lastToFirst\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">require the Department of Veterans affairs to study medical cannabis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> got one new cosponsor for a total of two.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>\/ STATES<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Tribal Council of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, located within <\/span><a
