The appeal will allow the business to remain operational until the issue is resolved, according to a Department of Finance and Administration news release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe revocation is the result of ongoing violations, most recently for selling more than 1,800 expired products,\u201d the news release states. \u201cABC enforcement agents conducted an undercover purchase of expired products in October 2023 following a verbal warning regarding these products.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ABC issued the dispensary a fine after two inspections last year, Vicentic said, and he made a case for reducing the fine. He said the issues at hand were \u201cfully explainable\u201d and he was surprised at ABC\u2019s response.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought the fine amount would be reduced because of my satisfactory explanation, and the next thing I knew, the director asked for a revocation of the license, which I thought was very extreme,\u201d Vicentic said.<\/p>\n<p>Trent Minner, leader of the finance department\u2019s regulatory division, said in the news release that Green Springs has had \u201cover 50 violations and warnings over the last four years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA license to operate in the medical marijuana industry in Arkansas is a privilege not to be taken lightly,\u201d Minner said. \u201cWhen state law is consistently disregarded, ABC has a duty to revoke the license.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green Springs\u2019s previous violations of medical marijuana regulations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Failure to maintain sanitary processing areas<\/li>\n<li>Failure to meet required standards for inventory information<\/li>\n<li>Failure to maintain accurate personnel records<\/li>\n<li>Failure to maintain video surveillance on the property<\/li>\n<li>Lack of commercial grade locks at the facilities<\/li>\n<li>Improper signage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ABC Director Christy Bjornson said in the news release that the division anticipates Vicentic\u2019s appeal. The ABC board will hear both Vicentic\u2019s and the division\u2019s case and decide whether to revoke or maintain the license.<\/p>\n<p>Arkansas voters approved a constitutional amendment in 2016 to legalize marijuana for medicinal use.
