Cities with licensed retailers in legal states saw their average home prices increase by $168,292 since 2014. The mean home value in cities without dispensaries, meanwhile, increased by $100,933. That\u2019s a $67,359 difference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realestatewitch.com\/cannabis-real-estate-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> stands as a testament to what insiders in the cannabis community have long known to be true: The presence of legal cannabis in cities and states does not diminish property values. Previous studies have indicated that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/americans-want-to-live-where-marijuana-is-legal-real-estate-survey-finds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">regulated access could influence some people to move to certain states over others<\/a>, for example.<\/p>\n<p>Prior analyses, including one published in 2021 that used data from online real estate marketplace Zillow, have similarly shown that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/marijuana-legalization-increases-home-property-values-new-study-finds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">marijuana legalization is associated with higher home property values<\/a>. \u201cHome values increased $6,338 more in states where marijuana is legal in some form, compared to states that haven\u2019t legalized marijuana,\u201d that report concluded.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, a separate analysis from economists at the University of Oklahoma similarly found that states that legalize marijuana <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/legalizing-marijuana-increases-housing-prices-study-finds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">see a boost in housing
