The video is the creation of artist GUAP with a soundtrack provided by Kevin Gilliam, aka <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/djbattlecat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DJ Battlecat<\/a>, the Los Angeles-based producer who\u2019s worked with rap legends including Tupac Shakur, The Game, Xzibit, Snoop Dogg and many more.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from the label, the new launch promises to \u201creturn Death Row to its former glory, all elements of the former label are being refitted for today\u2019s audience and their evolving tastes.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"h-death-row-cannabis-products-revealed\"><strong>Death Row Cannabis Products Revealed<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The first products revealed in the video feature eighths of premium flower sold in limited edition commemorative metallic bags. Additionally, liquid diamond-infused .5g pre-rolls will also be available in packs of seven and as individual 2g pre-rolls. Confirmed cultivars include Tropicana Cookies, a Girl Scout Cookies X Tangie hybrid; Strawberry Gary, a Gary Payton X Red Pop; and Runtz, a rare hybrid <a href=\"https:\/\/cannabisnow.com\/zkittlez\/\">Zkittles<\/a> X Gelato cross.<\/p>\n<p>The executive \u201chand-selected by Snoop himself\u201d to grow the company is West Coast legacy cultivator and industry insider, AK. He\u2019s currently Vice President of Cultivation for TRP LLC, who owns a majority of the <a href=\"https:\/\/cannabisnow.com\/berner-on-fire-cookies-dough\/\">Cookies<\/a> stores across the nation, including their facilities in Florida.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But AK is perhaps best known as being the man behind the IYKYK brand SMKRS and for his role alongside former partner WizardTrees in sprouting, selecting and expertly growing the Shirazi, RS11 (also known as Rainbow Sherbet #11), Studio 54 and strains from exotic cannabis breeder DEO.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement, \u201cAK\u2019s reputation for \u2018fire\u2019 OG weed keeps kids camped out in lines in front of their dispensaries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Death Row Cannabis will first be available at select Cookies California stores throughout California in Brentwood (Los Angeles), San Diego and San Bernardino on January 2, 2023, with other states and location rollouts to follow.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cannabisnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Death-Row-Cannabis-Packaging.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/cannabiscultivatornews.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Death-Row-Cannabis-Packaging.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63179\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Death Row Records new packaging.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h4><strong>Snoop &amp; Death Row Records<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The news is something of a full-circle moment for Snoop Dogg, who acquired <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deathrowofficial.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Death Row Records<\/a> in February 2022 when he said he was \u201clooking forward to building the next chapter of Death Row Records.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Long Beach native\u2019s music career began at the LA-based gansta rap record label. Founded in 1991 by Tracy \u201cThe D.O.C.\u201d Lynn Curry, Andre \u201cDr. Dre\u201d Young,\u00a0Suge Knight\u00a0and Richard Gilbert \u201cDick\u201d Griffey, the label catapulted gangsta rap from being a subculture and placed it firmly into the mainstream.<\/p>\n<p>Snoop\u2019s first appearance at Death Row Records came in 1992 when he and Dr Dre performed on the title track for the movie \u201cDeep Cover.\u201d His debut single \u201cWho Am I (What\u2019s My Name)?\u201d was released by the label in October 1993 and became No.1 on <em>Billboard<\/em>\u2018s Hot Rap Songs chart and No.8 on the Top 100 chart. The song\u2019s uptempo, funky vibe served as the ideal prelude to the rapper\u2019s debut album, <em>Doggystyle<\/em>. Produced by Dr Dre, the album debuted at No.1 on the <em>Billboard<\/em> charts in November 1993 making it the first debut album in history to land in the chats in the covetable position.<\/p>\n<p><em>Doggystyle<\/em> sold more than four million copies in the first seven months of its release and it remains one of the most acclaimed and best-selling rap albums of all time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value,\u201d Snoop Dogg said in a statement at the time. \u201cIt feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members.
