\n<\/span>Details of the <\/span>German health minister\u2019s plan for marijuana legalization<\/span><\/a> leaked\u2014and they\u2019re being criticized as too restrictive by lawmakers who support cannabis reform as well as too rushed by conservative legislators.<\/span>

Earl Blumenauer (D-OR)<\/span><\/a>, who just returned from a congressional delegation to Colombia, told Marijuana Moment that cannabis reform and ending the war on drugs was a \u201csignificant part\u201d of his\u00a0 conversations on the trip. Legalization legislation has been advancing there, and the country\u2019s new president has called for global drug reform.<\/span>

\n<\/span>The <\/span>Maryland House Cannabis Referendum and Legalization Workgroup<\/span><\/a> met to discuss plans to merge the state\u2019s marijuana, alcohol and tobacco regulators under one agency as polls show voters poised to approve a legalization referendum on the November ballot.<\/span>

\n<\/span>The <\/span>Kansas legislature\u2019s Special Committee on Medical Marijuana<\/span><\/a> held its second of three planned hearings to prepare a medical cannabis bill that lawmakers can pass in 2023.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-CO)<\/span><\/a> said there\u2019s \u201ca lot of activity\u201d around crafting combined cannabis legislation with banking and other components, and that he thinks \u201cthis thing\u2019s going to get passed this cycle.\u201d<\/span>

\n<\/span>Illinois<\/span><\/a> Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Republican challenger Darren Bailey, currently a state senator, discussed equity in the cannabis industry at a debate. The governor <\/span>tweeted<\/span><\/a>, \u201cWhen we legalized cannabis, we made a point to take steps to repair the damage of the past. We\u2019ve got more to do, but we\u2019ve expunged the records of more than 800k non-violent offenders and are reinvesting revenues in communities hardest hit by the war on drugs.\u201d Bailey said it wouldn\u2019t be a priority of his to reverse legalization.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Minnesota<\/span><\/a> Gov. Tim Walz (D) spoke about his support for legalizing marijuana during a debate. He also <\/span>tweeted<\/span><\/a>, \u201cI trust Minnesotans to make their own decisions when it comes to the use of adult-use, recreational cannabis. It\u2019s time we #LegalizeMN.\u201d Separately, the <\/span>lieutenant governor<\/span><\/a> tweeted, \u201cMinnesotans are ready to legalize adult-use cannabis in our state \u2013 @Tim_Walz and I want to get it done.\u201d<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Louisiana<\/span><\/a> Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) said that while he supports President Joe Biden\u2019s cannabis clemency move, he doesn\u2019t have the \u201clegal ability\u201d to issue blanket pardons under state law.<\/span>

\n<\/span>A review concluded that \u201caccording to three controlled studies, psilocybin may reduce symptoms of <\/span>depression and anxiety<\/span><\/a> in the context of cancer-related psychological discomfort for at least six months after a single acute treatment for mood and anxiety disorders.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
