\n<\/span>The <\/span>Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Criminal Justice and Counterterrorism<\/span><\/a> discussed a wide range of marijuana issues at a hearing\u2014including legalization, expungements, racial disparities in arrests, the need for industry equity and banking, among many others.<\/span>

\n<\/span>The <\/span>House of Representatives<\/span><\/a> approved a bipartisan marijuana research bill, and the Senate is expected to pass it soon as well\u2014potentially making it the first-ever standalone cannabis reform bill to reach a president\u2019s desk.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Sen. Ben Ray Luj\u00e1n (D-NM)<\/span><\/a> filed a new bill to allow radio and TV stations to air marijuana ads without being punished by the Federal Communications Commission or other federal agencies. It\u2019s called the Secure and Fair Enforcement (SAFE) Advertising Act.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-CO)<\/span><\/a> said\u00a0 the long-awaited introduction of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer\u2019s (D-NY) federal marijuana legalization bill has been the final \u201churdle\u201d needed to clear a path to passing his cannabis banking legislation.<\/span><\/p>\n
