href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/bipartisan-lawmakers-file-marijuana-protection-amendments-for-veterans-and-people-in-public-housing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Congressional lawmakers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> filed new spending bill amendments to protect people from being kicked out of public housing for marijuana and to shield military veterans who use medical cannabis from being punished by the Department of Veterans Affairs.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/nypd-will-no-longer-drug-test-officers-for-marijuana-effectively-immediately-department-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">New York City Police Department<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> announced it would cease subjecting officers to random, scheduled or pre-employment drug tests for marijuana in accordance with a city memo directing all agencies to stop such activity\u2014but later reversed course and said it will continue the tests while it reviews potential conflicts with federal law.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/major-financial-institutions-push-house-to-approve-marijuana-banking-in-defense-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Americans Bankers Association, Credit Union National Association, Independent Community bankers of America and National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> sent a letter calling on Congress to again pass marijuana banking legislation\u2014this time as part of the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>\/ FEDERAL<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sam.gov\/opp\/3c36bba44511483d88923a956667b70f\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow Mike Crapo (R-ID)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> pressed a nominee to be health and human services assistant secretary for planning and evaluation to challenge the Biden administration on the \u201chealth impacts of marijuana legalization\u2026with close attention to what the facts indicate, rather than what political agendas might dictate.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>\/ STATES<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovAndyBeshear\/status\/1547256318741839872\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kentucky<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Gov.
