\n<\/span>Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Dave Joyce (R-OH)<\/span><\/a> met recently to discuss possible paths forward for incremental cannabis reform legislation this year\u2014possibly by combining the SAFE Banking Act with the provisions of a separate expungements bill\u2014both offices confirmed to Marijuana Moment.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>A <\/span>Government Accountability Office analysis of U.S. Border Patrol<\/span><\/a> enforcement data reveals that 91 percent of the agency\u2019s drug seizures at checkpoints are conducted against U.S. citizens\u2014and 75 percent of those encounters involve marijuana only. Meanwhile, 69 percent of cannabis seizures are for less than an ounce.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D)<\/span><\/a> signed a bill to legalize MDMA prescriptions in the state when it gets federal Food and Drug Administration approval.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL)<\/span><\/a> blasted Democrats for blocking a marijuana reform amendment he tried to attach to a bill on aiding first responders with PTSD and traumatic brain injury. \n<\/span>Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA)<\/span><\/a> tweeted, \u201cThe War on Drugs is a war on people. It\u2019s time we legalize cannabis at the federal level and work to undo decades of injustice against communities of color.\u201d<\/span>

\n<\/span>North Carolina<\/span><\/a> lawmakers sent Gov. Roy Cooper (D) a bill to permanently legalize hemp.<\/span>
