Cory Booker (D-NJ)<\/span><\/a> sent a letter asking colleagues to get involved in the process of drafting a federal marijuana legalization bill that they plan to file \u201cin the weeks ahead.\u201d Schumer also discussed the cannabis reform push in a Senate floor speech.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Federally owned power company <\/span>Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)<\/span><\/a> walked back its threat to withhold electricity from marijuana businesses following pushback from congressional and local officials.<\/span>

\n<\/span>A day earlier, <\/span>Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and Steve Cohen (D-TN)<\/span><\/a> sent a letter criticizing TVA\u2019s insinuation it would block power from state-legal cannabis businesses.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI)<\/span><\/a> and more than 100 other GOP lawmakers sent a <\/span>letter<\/span><\/a> calling on President Joe Biden to permanently classify fentanyl-related substances in Schedule I.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Rep. Anthony Brown (D-MD)<\/span><\/a> tweeted, \u201cCannabis legalization and decriminalization is an equal justice issue. MD must take the lead, ensure its economic benefits directly benefit communities who have borne the brunt of these bad policies, and expunge the records of those currently serving time.<\/span>
