\n<\/span>Reps. Dave Joyce (R-OH) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)<\/span><\/a> filed a new bipartisan bill in Congress to fund state and local marijuana expungement programs.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>National Institute on Drug Abuse Director Nora Vokow<\/span><\/a>\u2014the U.S.\u2019s top drug science official\u2014 said she personally hesitates to study marijuana because its federal Schedule I status makes it \u201cmuch more cumbersome\u201d than studying other substances.<\/span>

\n<\/span>The <\/span>Drug Enforcement Administration<\/span><\/a> once again proposed a huge boost in the legal production of illegal psychedelics like psilocybin, MDMA and DMT to be used in research. The agency initially wanted just 30 grams of psilocybin produced in 2021, and now that\u2019s been boosted to 8,000 grams for 2022\u2014a 26,567% increase, reflecting a massive level of interest in psychedelics research.<\/span>

\n<\/span>The <\/span>U.S. Department of Agriculture<\/span><\/a> announced new changes to \u201cstrengthen\u201d crop insurance policies for hemp producers.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>GW Pharmaceuticals won a preliminary victory over Canopy Growth Corporation<\/span><\/a> in a patent infringement case the latter company filed over cannabis extraction methods, as IP lawyer Larry Sandell of Mei & Mark, LLP explains in an op-ed for Marijuana Moment.<\/span>
