\n<\/span>In just a week, <\/span>Italian activists<\/span><\/a> have collected half a million signatures in a week for a referendum to decriminalize growing marijuana\u2014and other psychoactive plants and fungi such as psilocybin mushrooms. The vote is expected to take place in the spring.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Rhode Island\u2019s Senate president<\/span><\/a> said lawmakers are \u201cvery close\u201d to reaching a deal on a marijuana legalization bill that could be passed in a special session this fall.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Florida activists<\/span><\/a> filed a new marijuana legalization initiative they hope to qualify for the 2022 ballot. The move comes after the state Supreme Court invalidated prior measures from this group and another for being \u201cmisleading\u201d in light of federal law.<\/span>
