\n<\/span>A federal <\/span>National Credit Union Administration board member<\/span><\/a> said at a cannabis conference that Congress\u2019s failure to pass marijuana banking legislation is \u201csimply ludicrous\u201d\u2014and he thinks broader legalization \u201cis going to happen.\u201d He is also pushing to form a federal interagency working group to develop a \u201cprinciples-based approach to cannabis banking\u201d that can be used to press lawmakers for change.<\/span>

\n<\/span>The <\/span>California senator<\/span><\/a> whose bill to legalize possession of psychedelics recently stalled until next year said at a forum that he\u2019s confident the measure will pass\u2014and that the state will ultimately decriminalize all drugs. Activist funder David Bronner said at the event that he wants to put that broader reform on California\u2019s 2024 ballot.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Several Rhode Island lawmakers<\/span><\/a>\u2014including the Legislative Black and Latino Caucus chair\u2014joined activists at a press conference to urge House and Senate leaders to reach a deal on a marijuana legalization bill that centers social equity and workers and pass it in a special session this fall.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Wyoming\u2019s secretary of state<\/span><\/a> has provided official petitions for 2022 medical cannabis legalization and marijuana decriminalization initiatives. Activists will hold events in seven cities this weekend to collect signatures to qualify for the ballot.<\/span>
