\n<\/span>The <\/span>Internal Revenue Service<\/span><\/a> hosted a forum on tax issues related to marijuana businesses and cryptocurrency. The presenter highlighted growing support for legalization, saying it \u201cis becoming more and more mainstream.\u201d<\/span>

\n<\/span>Lawmakers on the <\/span>Virginia legislature\u2019s Joint Commission on Cannabis Oversight<\/span><\/a> discussed launching recreational marijuana sales early through existing medical cannabis dispensaries if those businesses agree to incubate social equity applicants.<\/span>

\n<\/span>The <\/span>U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s<\/span><\/a> Risk Management Agency tweeted, \u201cA pilot hemp insurance program available in select counties through Multi-Peril Crop Insurance provides coverage against loss of yield because of insurable causes of loss for hemp grown for fiber, grain, or CBD oil.\u201d<\/span>

\n<\/span>Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA)<\/span><\/a> sent a letter urging President Joe Biden to reinstate Cabinet-level status for the director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Oklahoma<\/span><\/a> Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) appointed a new top medical cannabis regulator. Separately, a <\/span>judge<\/span><\/a> granted a motion to move a lawsuit challenging regulators\u2019 medical marijuana tracking system to a different county.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Pennsylvania<\/span><\/a> Gov. Tom Wolf (D) tweeted, \u201cMarijuana legalization is long overdue in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvanians want it. I\u2019m for it. And it\u2019s well past time to restore justice to those harmed by criminalization. I\u2019m going to keep doing everything I can to make it happen.\u201d<\/span>

\n<\/span>New York<\/span><\/a> Republican gubernatorial candidate Andrew Giuliani said he would implement marijuana legalization and that while working at the White House he met someone who benefited from medical cannabis. (About 5:15 into the video.)<\/span>
