\n<\/span>The <\/span>Maine House of Representatives<\/span><\/a> voted to decriminalize all drugs\u2014on the 50th anniversary of President Richard Nixon\u2019s declaration of the war on drugs.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>The <\/span>Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee<\/span><\/a> approved an amendment to let researchers study the marijuana that consumers are actually purchasing from dispensaries\u2014instead of having to use government-grown cannabis. Similar legislation is advancing in the House.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Sens. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Steve Daines (R-MT)<\/span><\/a> are publicly calling on the Senate Banking Committee to vote on their marijuana banking bill\u2014a move that suggests conventional behind-the-scenes efforts to get colleagues to schedule a hearing aren\u2019t getting results.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont (D)<\/span><\/a> said he\u2019s open to smoking marijuana after it becomes formally legalized with his signature.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Minnesota\u2019s House majority leader<\/span><\/a>, who sponsored a marijuana legalization bill that passed his chamber this year, says cannabis reform could \u201cmove forward\u201d in a special session. \n<\/span>The <\/span>Senate Judiciary Committee<\/span><\/a> will hold a <\/span>hearing<\/span><\/a> on the crack and powder cocaine sentencing disparity on Tuesday.<\/span>
