\n<\/span>Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D)<\/span><\/a> signed a bill requiring schools to store medical cannabis for use by students who need it. Lawmakers also recently sent separate legislation to his desk that will double the amount of marijuana that is legal to possess.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Tennessee lawmakers sent Gov. Bill Lee (R)<\/span><\/a> legislation to add new low-THC medical cannabis qualifying conditions and create a commission to study enacting a more robust medical marijuana program if federal law changes.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>The <\/span>Minnesota House Taxes Committee<\/span><\/a> approved the majority leader\u2019s marijuana legalization bill. That\u2019s 11 committee approvals so far, and there\u2019s just one more to go before it\u2019ll be on the floor this month.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>A <\/span>French lawmaker<\/span><\/a> caused a stir by waving around a marijuana joint on the floor of the National Assembly as a new parliamentary report recommended that the county legalize cannabis.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>\/ FEDERAL<\/b>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Marijuana business owners testified in the <\/span>federal trial<\/span><\/a> against a former Fall River, Massachusetts mayor.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>The <\/span>National Institute on Drug Abuse<\/span><\/a> and other federal agencies are accepting grant applications to support research on the \u201ceffects of changes in the legal status of cannabis on health-related behaviors and outcomes\u201d and the \u201ceffects of variations in the legal provisions applicable to legalized cannabis.\u201d<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY)<\/span><\/a> said he\u2019s \u201cputting together the final touches\u201d on his federal marijuana legalization bill and that \u201cyou\u2019ll see it very soon.\u201d<\/span>

\n<\/span>Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR)<\/span><\/a> tweeted, \u201cThe SAFE Banking Act is not only an economic bill, it\u2019s about equity too. This bill will make it easier for cannabis entrepreneurs without wealthy friends and families to get banking services and loans they need to get their businesses off the ground.\u201d<\/span>

\n<\/span>Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA)<\/span><\/a> wrote about his support for marijuana reform in a constituent letter.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>The House bill to <\/span>legalize medical cannabis for military veterans<\/span><\/a> got one new cosponsor for a total of 13.<\/span>
\n<\/span>

\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Missouri<\/span><\/a> Gov. Mike Parson (R) commuted the sentence of a man serving a 22-year prison sentence for a marijuana crime.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Pennsylvania<\/span><\/a> Gov. Tom Wolf (D) tweeted, \u201cDoylestown is the latest Pennsylvania municipality to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana. Municipalities shouldn\u2019t have to do this individually; instead, our state legislature should pass comprehensive marijuana reform, including legalization.\u201d<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Wisconsin<\/span><\/a> Gov. Tony Evers (D) tweeted, \u201cLegalizing and taxing marijuana, much like we do with alcohol, just makes sense. Doing so would generate an estimated $165M in revenue for our state starting in 2022, and now\u2014as we recover from #COVID19\u2014is not the time to be leaving dollars on the table.\u201d<\/span>

\n<\/span>Kansas\u2019s<\/span><\/a> House majority leader said it will be \u201cpretty tough\u201d to pass a medical cannabis bill this year, though the chamber does plan to <\/span>debate<\/span><\/a> the legislation on Thursday.<\/span>
