City Council has confirmed Cat Packer as executive director of the newly created department, the Los Angeles Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>Packer \u2013 a former director for the California chapter of Drug Policy Alliance \u2013 will work alongside the five-member Cannabis Commission that will help develop the <a href=\"https:\/\/mjbizdaily.com\/good-start-los-angeles-cannabis-business-regulations-long-way-go\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L.A.\u2019s marijuana industry rules<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Times, the council also approved the commission\u2019s members:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Robert Ahn, an ex-planning commissioner<\/li>\n<li>Rita Villa, a certified public accountant<\/li>\n<li>Philip D.
