Maui Grown Therapies of Kahului conducted the Aloha State\u2019s first MMJ sale at 11 a.m. HST after getting the go-ahead from the Hawaii Department of Health.<\/p>\n
Hawaii was among the first states to legalize medical\u00a0marijuana\u00a0in 2000, but dispensaries weren\u2019t legalized until 2015.<\/p>\n
In April 2016, Maui Grown was awarded Hawaii\u2019s first MMJ dispensary license and, in February 2017, received a notice to proceed with cultivation from the state. The dispensary passed its final retail inspection on Monday, setting the state for Tuesday\u2019s opening.<\/p>\n
